Software QA Manager

As a SW Quality Assurance Manager at Nemaris, you will work closely with a cross-functional team to understand new features, think through edge cases and devise testing strategies. Each day will offer new, exciting challenges as you help the Surgimap software platform team including:

  • Understand how all elements of our software ecosystem work together and develop QA approaches appropriate for our architecture.
  • Take charge of the software release schedule and give final approval for releases.
  • Design and develop structured test plans and tests using best practices in an Agile environment.
  • Help more junior members of the QA team learn how to be better automation engineers by mentoring them.
  • Ensure that software meets our usability and quality standards via requirements, design, and code reviews.
  • Help drive projects through all stages, from idea to launch.
  • Actively share knowledge and responsibility with other team members and teams.
  • Act in a hands-on role partnering with QA team to solve particularly challenging cases and to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Set processes for triaging production bugs and reporting metrics to management.
  • 80% automation, 20% manual testing.


Who you are & the skills/education/experience you possess:

  • A smart, creative person that takes pride in their work and loves technology.
  • Who enjoys teaching other QA team members about automation and the importance of test plans.
  • Who has previous management experience.
  • High ambition, low ego, detail oriented, and organized.
  • 5+ years of professional software QA experience including 3+ years of developing software test automation with C++/JavaScript/Java/etc. using frameworks like Selenium, Appium, Squish and backend testing.
  • Solid programming experience (e.g. at least 3 years of coding familiarity in Java or C++)that will help you suggest the location of possible bugs in the software.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent degree in a technical discipline.
  • Knowledgeable in Functional, Performance, Scalability, Security, Globalization, Stress, and Usability testing
  • Experience in BDD, TDD and Unit Testing.
  • Has experience in the development, extension, execution, and analysis of both manual and automation testing.
  • Excellent systems analytical, problem solving and technical skills.
  • Can reproduce production problems and identify gaps in the regression test suite.
  • Have an intrinsic drive for excellence and continuous improvement and a strong sense of adventure, excitement and enthusiasm for technology.


Bonus qualities that we would love to have in our next QA Manager:

  • Experience working with Windows, Mac OSX, iOS, Android and Web testing.
  • Experience working with Git and JIRA or related tools is a plus.
  • Agile (Scrum) is a plus.
  • Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals from data structures and algorithms to high-level design patterns to object-oriented programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture.
